Check this out! A summary report of an amazing collaboration we helped design and facilitate that brought more than 300 participants together from around the world to co-create ideas to support USAID’s efforts to advance locally led development. In partnership with USAID’s Bureau for Planning, Learning, and Resource Management (PLR) and Bureau for Management, the workshop, “Partners in Localization: Designing for Change,” drew upon the wealth and diversity of participants’ experiences. From local partners to small businesses, from international NGOs to USAID staff committed to localization, each participant worked to collectively identify challenges to USAID’s localization efforts and propose solutions to overcome them. USAID can now build upon these ideas to increase engagement in local languages, reduce reporting burdens, streamline risk assessment requirements, expand the use of co-creation, and integrate locally led development throughout the program cycle. We look forward to more opportunities to work with USAID’s PLR team to turn these conversations into action.
