Between August 2023 and March 2024, CollaborateUp, in cooperation with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, convened thought leaders and practitioners from various sectors—government, private sector, development finance institutions (DFIs), and supporting ecosystem actors—to explore the intricacies of blended finance. These discussions focused on identifying barriers to efficient implementation, opportunities for sector improvement, and strategies for scaling blended finance initiatives to amplify their development impact. This paper by CollaborateUp’s Director of Inclusive Investment, Lisa Gans, provides an overview of recommendations from these roundtable discussions, and a vision of how they might be implemented.
